There are multiple ways to manage your stock on The Range Marketplace, automated and manual. We highly recommend that you set up an automated stock feed, however, it is still possible to fully manage your stock manually using the Stock section within the products page.
We have a dual stock system in place which utilises ‘Warehouse stock’ and ‘Web stock’ to create a buffer and help prevent overselling. The ‘Warehouse stock’ (available stock) is an indication of the amount of product that you physically have in stock. We use this figure to update our Web stock (saleable stock) which is displayed to customers.
The ‘Web stock’ number will be reduced when someone makes an order. If that order is later cancelled, the original stock level will be restored. The warehouse stock number will only change when you accept the order.
When updating your prices, you will need to set a scheduled date for the new price to come into effect.
IMPORTANT: If you are a commission based seller, the scheduled date can be as early as the next day. If you are a cost-based seller, you will need to follow the usual lead times shown in our Cost-Based Seller Article.
Automated updates
If you have chosen to set up an automated stock feed, refer to API: Stock availability which details the steps and requirements to set this up. Similarly, you can update your pricing using the Product Feed API, refer to API: Product Feed which details the steps and requirements to set this up.
Updating via CSV in bulk
If you have chosen to update your stock and prices via CSV in bulk, you will need to log in to your account and access the Products section, where you can download a CSV document (SKU Stock & Price CSV).
This file shows you a list of all items and any available stock for each product. Once you’ve downloaded the file, you can update stock quantities and prices with a scheduled date for the price to change.
Once you have made the amendments that you require, save the file and re-upload the document onto the portal.
Manual stock management
If you have chosen to manually manage your stock, you will need to log in to your account and access the Products page. This section shows you a list of all listed items and by clicking on the product name, you will be able to see the saleable stock for each variant:
To manually amend stock, enter the new figure of available stock next to the relevant product code and click ‘Confirm Changes’. This will update our saleable stock to match. This will need to be repeated for every item that needs updating and cannot be done on mass.
